From the Desk of Principal Jackson
August 23, 2021
Dear Levey Families,
I hope upon receiving this newsletter our Levey students and families are safe and ready to start the new school year. As you know this year will look different as we begin in person classes on August 30th! The entire staff including myself have missed seeing you in person tremendously!
The building will be prepared for the first day of school. To assure students and staff are safe, COVID-19 protocols are in place. The building has been deep cleaned and sanitized ready to receive our students. I’d also like to thank all of you for your support and patience.
To stay informed of all that is taking place at Levey, please visit our website or our Instagram page on a regular basis for current news and upcoming events. If you have not done so already, please be sure to download the Schoology App for additional school communications and to receive our weekly SMORE newsletter.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome back new and returning students and families to Levey Middle School! Take advantage of the culture and family atmosphere that has become a way of life at Levey. Evidence has shown that students involved in extracurricular activities are more successful. I encourage you to help your scholar find a club, sport or other activity of interest to become involved.
I’m so excited to meet each and every one! Again welcome, thank you for being a part of the Levey family! We are proud to have you and we look forward to a successful school year.
Let's Go Jaguars!
Please stay safe!

important information to note:
Because of the many changes this past year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this upcoming year, many things are still the same, but many things will be different.
- Hallways will be marked with directional arrows, and students will be encouraged to stay to the right when passing between classes.

- Ensure that if it should become necessary, all instructional materials can be seamlessly accessed virtually
- To help make the transition back into the school building we would like to invite parents and students to attend our virtual Student Orientation. The virtual orientation will take place Wednesday, August 25th
- SPS is a one-to-one device division and all students have been issued an electronic device. If your student does not already have a SPS-issued device, please contact Oakland Schools @ 248.209.2060.
- Per SPS mask guidance, masks will be required for all participants inside the building.
