2024 Gunn High School Grad Activities Registration and Ticket Sales

Senior Picnic -- Tuesday, May 28th at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Buses will depart at 10am and return at approximately 4pm. This is a school sponsored event, organized by PTSA volunteers.
Early Bird: $85.00.     After Apr 15: $95.00

Grad Night Party -- Thursday, May 30th at a surprise location within 20 miles of campus
Students will gather for dinner on campus immediately following the graduation ceremony. Buses leave at 8:30 and return at 1:30am. This event is organized and sponsored by the Gunn PTSA.
Early Bird: $165.00.    After Apr 15: $175.00

Attendance is optional, but we hope that all seniors will participate and celebrate together! Scholarships are available and donations to our scholarship fund are still being accepted and are very much appreciated. You will have an opportunity to make a donation at the end of this form.

Paper Registration and Pay By Check
If you prefer to not submit this information electronically, please print this form, fill it in and return to Gunn Grad Night Committee, 3365 Kenneth Dr, Palo Alto, CA 94303.  Checks should be payable to "Gunn PTSA" and include Grad Event Tickets on the memo line and sent to the same address, after completing the form below.
 
If you will be requesting a scholarship, please note that on the form when you send it in. Have your student contact their school counselor who must email gradnight@gunnpta.org with approval for the scholarship. When you go to the check out page, choose the "Pay by Check or Request Scholarship" option. This will complete your registration. HOWEVER it will then be up to the student to contact his/her/their counselor to approve the scholarship via email to gradnight@gunnpta.org.

In the event I cannot be reached, I authorize the person in charge to obtain the necessary medical aid from a licensed physician at my own expense, understanding that certain expenses may be covered by the School District’s Student Accident coverage. *
Medicine/Rx Policy
During the registration process for a graduation event, a student must submit a list of medicines (over the counter and prescription) s/he intends to bring to the event. With the exception of an EpiPen, inhaler, or insulin delivery device, all medications (over the counter and prescription) are required to be checked-in to the designated chaperone for safekeeping. All medication must be in its original container and must be examined by the volunteer at the Medical Check-In table during the bus loading process. Students may access their medication by going to the designated chaperone during the events. Upon returning to Gunn, the medications will be returned to the students. If an unforeseen health issue arises and the student needs to bring a previously undeclared medicine, it must be presented at the Medical Check-in table with a signed note from a parent or a legal guardian stating the health condition and the name of the medication in order for the organizers to accept the medication. Please make sure the medication is in its original container.

Code of Behavior
Student and Parent/Guardian each fully understand that participants must abide by all rules governing acceptable and appropriate conduct at both events. NO VAPING, DRUGS, ALCOHOL, OR TOBACCO ARE ALLOWED IN EITHER VENUE. Students who appear to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will not be allowed to board the bus and their payment will not be refunded.  All alcohol, vaping products, tobacco products, and drugs will be confiscated. If necessary, parents will be called to pick up the student at the party. All students must ride to and from the events on the bus. NO EXCEPTIONS. Supervision ends when students disembark the bus in the Gunn parking lot.
 
Safety and Security Precautions
To ensure that all seniors have the opportunity to celebrate this special time in their lives in the safest manner possible, the following procedures will be followed:
  1. Prior to the Senior Picnic on May 28th and the Grad Night party on May 30th, all personal belongings will be searched before students board the charter bus.
  2. During the Senior Picnic even on May 28th students will ONLY be allowed to carry their cell phone, cell phone charger, prescription glasses and case, sunglasses, cash for games, and a jacket/sweater with them. ALL OTHER BELONGINGS will be placed in a bag that will be returned to the student upon their return to Gunn. Please note that personal hygiene products will be provided at both venues.
  3. During the Graduation Night Party event on May 30th students will ONLY be allowed to carry their cell phone, cell phone charger, prescription glasses and case, and a jacket/sweater with them. ALL OTHER BELONGINGS will be placed in a bag that will be returned to the student upon their return to Gunn on June 1 or at early departure at the venue. Please note that personal hygiene products will be provided at the venue, and are also permitted to be carried by the student.
  4. Students may be searched by parent volunteers, Gunn staff, or outside security service personnel, or a combination of said persons. They are subject to a search before boarding the charter bus or at any time during the outings.
  5. Students will not be allowed to disembark the bus until they arrive at or return from the destination.

In consideration for the acceptance of my participation in the Gunn High School PTSA Senior Picnic on May 28, 2024 and/or Graduation Night Party May 30, 2024, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound, do hereby for myself and heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, forever waive, release and discharge any and all rights, claims and actions for damages that I may have, or that may hereafter accrue to me, against the California State PTA, including all unit, council and district PTAs and all of their officers, directors, members and volunteers. I attest and verify that I am physically fit and able to participate in this event and acknowledge that I am aware of the inherent risks in participating in an event of this type.

PARENT/GUARDIAN WAIVER

I hereby certify that I have read and understood the permissions, Waivers, authorizations and Code of Behavior set forth herewith.
 
My student has my (our) permission to participate in the above referenced PTSA co-sponsored Senior Picnic on May 28, 2024 and/or PTSA sponsored Graduation Night Party on May 30, 2024. The parent or guardian signing this Registration and Consent assumes all risks in connection with the student's participation in these two PTSA sponsored activities. I (we) hereby release and discharge the California State PTA, all PTA officers, employees and agents from all liability, claims or demands for any damage, loss or injury to the student, the student's property, or parent's property in connection with participation in these activities, unless caused by the negligence of the PTA. I do hereby certify that to the best of my (our) knowledge and belief said minor is in good health. In case of illness or accident, permission is granted for emergency treatment to be administered. It is further understood and agreed that the undersigned will assume full responsibility for any such action, including payment of costs.
 
I understand, acknowledge, and agree that Palo Alto Unified School District, its employees, officers, agents, or volunteers shall not be liable for any injury/illness suffered, which is incident to and/or associated with participating in the above activity. I voluntarily release, waive, indemnify, and hold PAUSD,
its Board of Trustees, officers, agents, and employees, individually and collectively, harmless for any and all liability, costs, losses, claims, demands, action, payments and judgements, including legal and attorney fees, arising from personal or bodily injuries, property damage, or otherwise, as a result of the undersigned's participation.

No Senior Left Behind
 
Our hope is that every Senior will be able to attend these graduation festivities. We anticipate about 10% of students will need some financial assistance. PTSA is fundraising to enable all Senior students to join the fun. Your generous tax-deductible contribution would help us reach our goal.  Any amount would be appreciated!
